Surgical Section of the Serbian Medical Society
The Serbian Medical Society, founded at the initiative of the first Serbian surgeon, Dr. Vladan Đorđević, began with a focus on general medical topics.
The activity at the meetings in the first years was high but declined due to Đorđević’s commitments. After 1889, with the arrival of Dr. Vojislav Subotić, surgeons reactivated, bringing new dynamics and presentations of surgical cases, significantly transforming the society’s work.
